What Experts Says About Sennheiser IE 60 In-Ear Wired Earphone

Sennheiser might have been focussing on full size headphones of late but the IE60 is an emphatic demonstration that they know what makes a good earphone. The IE60 is not an earphone that will stun you from the outset. It isn’t amazingly pretty and the build quality is respectable rather than remarkable. All of the basics are present and correct though from the excellent carry case to the choice of bungs and cable mounts. Even allowing for the slightly fiddly setup, the Sennheiser is a well thought out design.

More importantly still, the IE60 sounds extremely good with a huge variety of styles and bitrates. The clean, neutral performance is pretty much the best dynamic driver based presentation that I have yet found and the Sennheiser is a product that is both accurate and enjoyable in a way that is beyond many of the competitors. The price difference between this and the old MX-500 of my youth is considerable but the spirit is the same. The IE60 will offer an aftermarket performance boost to a great many devices and be easy to live with while it does so.
